Looking back to plan ahead - The Equality and Human Rights Commission launches phase one of their consultation on strategic plan. This is the first of three phases of the consultation to develop their next three-year strategic plan, which will be laid before Parliament in April 2012. Phase one looks at their Strategic Plan 2009-12 and how they have fared in keepingtheir promise about the ten things they said they would deliver. This will be followed by phase two, a 60 day consultation seeking views on their emerging priorities for 2012-15, in early autumn. The third and final phase, a 30 day consultation seeking views on their draft strategic plan, which will commence in early 2012. Any strategic planning exercise involves tough choices. The Commission's budget settlement and the impact of socio-economic changes on their stakeholders and the vulnerable groups they are here to help means it's more important than ever that they use their resources to best effect and demonstrate value for money. The EHRC needs your help in making these tough choices. They intend to actively involve as many people as possible in this process and see it as an open conversation with their stakeholders until finalising the Strategic Plan 2012-15. |
