GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES REVIEW OF THE AGENCY WORKERS REGULATIONS IN 2013

1.8.2011
Mr Davey told recruitment industry representatives on Tuesday 26 July 2011 that “there will be a formal review of the regulations and its impact in 2013… Clearly, we will want to work with [the recruitment industry] in the run-up to that, to learn the lessons and see what extra things we could flex as a result of that review.” Mr Davey said that, although recruiters might not want to share news of the review with employers, “I want to reassure you that there will be a process we will be engaged with you on, to review it from the experience of the first two years of running it”. The Regulations will ensure that temporary agency workers are entitled to receive parity in pay and other key employment conditions, when compared to permanent staff doing comparable work, on completion of a 12 week qualifying period. The Regulations will come into force on 1 October 2011.
